Creative Cribs September: Bryn Carter blueeyedbird12, co-creator and 1/2 of thesafewordis + founder of charleycowork. I am featuring two places in one this month, her home and the new women’s co-working community.
blueeyedbird12 Is an overall bad ass bitch who quite literally makes ideas into realizations. Over the last two years I’ve watched her grow and seen what can be created when great minds get together. Most recently she is the founder of a women’s co-working community space that welcomes all - charleycowork.
By the way the home is clean and styled like an office, you can tell she’s always had a boss mentality, surrounding herself with conceptual art promoting powerful messages and women empowerment. Vintage, classy, with a twist of savage. Much like Charley Co spaces, and from every event that she’s help put on, it’s evident that she surrounds herself with positive and motivating messages and themes. Especially when it comes to inspiring women. Her collaborations both in design and with people (such as shaylapreeshl) all lead to inventive and unique things. I can see a parallel between the way she decorates at home and how she designed Charley Co. The layout, original art pieces, and the wall to wall collages are echoed in this new space. The messages in the art: all positive shit with an edge.
As she spends most of her time outside of her crib working, working-out, hosting events, managing spaces, and networking - as well as preparing to move- I only photographed her main space in the house. In addition, there are shots from inside charleycowork to see how one’s home life / interests/ decor are projected in our outside lives and creations. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Top 3 artists currently jamming: Iggy Izalea, Frenship, Bryson Tiller
What you do in your space when you’re not working: Catching up work, on adult things like laundry. This home right now is an in-between spot during parts of her day. At the moment it serves as a calm zone between her interactions throughout the day.

About Your Hosts:
Candace is a mompreneur who always has an opinion and plenty of ideas! She bought her first flip, a 1940's borderline knockdown with her husband at 22, and from there she built her businesses from manual labor and sweat equity. They moved 7 times in the last 8 years, and renovating each home while living there, and learning along the way. She is a lover of all things real estate, especially helping home buyers & sellers, and is always finding the next thing to improve her life and business. When she is not chasing her 2 little ones around, you can find her on the phone working, searching Pinterest, or roaming the aisles of Home Goods.
Jamie is a homebody at heart and loves all things home decor and design. She bought her first property with her husband at 25 and spent day 1 of home ownership gutting it. Following in her family's footsteps (see above), they renovated the entire home and loved/hated every second of it. She's passionate about real estate, especially helping buyers and sellers by going above and beyond in her business. You can probably spot her outside running, trying out a new restaurant or planning a trip -- always exploring. She loves life in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and yellow lab Rocky and is a firm believer that the Midwest is best.
