One year ago I left Chicago on a bit of a whim for a city I was sure I’d have no business returning to. There wasn’t much I could say I was “coming back” to other than a few good friends and a church I knew I could call home. But God has opened the door to so many life-giving friendships and life-changing opportunities that I never could have imagined, and certainly don’t deserve. His plan is so much bigger than our career gain or financial security, and what I’ve had to lay down has given life to something so much greater. It’s been uncomfortable at times, but if we aren’t willing to do the ridiculous things God calls us to, we may never experience the miraculous things He created us for. I’m so thankful for rockcitychurch and the part we get to play in all that God is doing through His church. There are too many to thank (and apparently tag), but if you’re still reading, chances are this is for you. The local church is the greatest cause on the planet. It’s a blessing and a privilege to be a part of a Kingdom organization with a heart to help everyone know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. The best is yet to come, folks. It was true before I ever even knew what it meant. And He was leading me to it before I was ever even following Him. •
“Life is not a problem to be solved, it is an adventure to be lived.... And there comes a time in every mans life when he’s got to break away from all that he thought he knew and go into the unknown with God... So don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” -John Eldridge, Wild at Heart.
