When we started work on our collaboration with London’s iconic natural_history_museum we could not wait to get started designing this new collection. Delving through the archives, Tom discovered a collection of original Bauer brother illustrations. These brothers were at the top of their game back in the late 1700s, travelling the world exploring new regions and painstakingly drawing all aspects of the flora and fauna they discovered
It’s these treasured designs that were the inspiration for Forbidden Bloom, a bold reworking of the museum’s floral and reptile collections. We’ve been wanting to create a floral wallpaper for some time now, so when we opened the vaults and uncovered these works we just knew this was the time. We of course couldn’t resist adding our twist with the mysteriously intertwined, sweeping serpents. Look closer, can you spot the serpent’s head?
