I follow a keto diet (after being vegan for 2.5 years).
For me, I find this is the best way to manage my weight and help control inflammation (so many other benefits too).
Now if you’ve heard all this commotion about keto, and are curious about starting, I’m going to give you the low down on some mistakes to avoid:
✅Not drinking enough water
Don’t forget to sip water throughout the day because dehydration can occur.
Since you’re not eating as much carbs as you normally would, the keto diet can cause changes in your fluid and electrolyte balance.
✅Cutting carbs and increasing fat too much and too quickly
One day your eating donuts, pizza and bagels and then the next day you go cold turkey.
This drastic change may be too much in the beginning, so ease into it with a gradual cut in your carbs.
✅Forgetting to eat foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids
Since keto emphasizes fats, don’t just turn to cheese and bacon (I know their just so dang tasty).
Ensure that you’re eating fish like salmon, sardines and herring that are high in anti-inflammatory omega-3s.
Also stock up on olive oil, avocado, flax and chia seeds.
What carb you will cut out first? Type 1 for pizza or 2 for bagels.

Cereal is never a bad option, in my opinion! Huge thanks to catalinacrunch for sending me some samples of their cereal to try. This cereal is high in fiber, protein and fat. It is considered a #keto cereal! I know keto has been a huge topic of conversation in the last year or so and everyone has their opinions, but for me I think it can be fun to try different types of foods. What I like about this cereal is that it is #PlantBased. A lot of the people I know who do keto eat a TON of animal products. I personally believe that reducing animal products is beneficial for so many things, so if someone on the keto diet can replace their meals with plant based or vegan ones, then that’s awesome. I could continue on about my thoughts on keto, but I’ll stop there with my review of this cereal.
First, I will say I didn’t like it when eaten dry/fresh out of the package. It DEFINITELY needs milk. I would suggest almond milk or coconut almond milk. When eaten dry, it left a bad aftertaste and the bitterness of the cocoa was strong. However, will milk the whole flavor changed. It was surprisingly pretty tasty. I still wouldn’t get it a high rating like marshmallow mateys or cinnamon toasters, BUT for being keto it wasn’t bad. I’d give it a 7/10. In basic terms, the ketogenic diet may make you smell all over. It’s not accurate to say it targets your vagina and makes your discharge turn into swamp water. .
